Do you remember our Trove 2023 fashion resolutions? Way back in January, we resolved to be more adventurous with our fashion choices. The holidays are filled with opportunities to rock a fun and festive outfit, so as 2023 comes to an end, we’re putting together some eye-catching looks suitable for every occasion.
The trick? Every outfit starts with the same item! For today’s post, we’re using a beautiful pleated silver skirt from Amy Karlin (@amyin613) as our starting point. The Ottawa Holiday Market in Aberdeen Square is a great way to soak up some festive vibes, but it can be cold! Layering is the key to staying warm while enjoying an outdoor market. To make this silver skirt work for a few hours of al fresco browsing and eating, we’ve created a look that’s layered from head to toe.
Start with a pair of thermal tights and a long-sleeved tee as a base layer under the skirt. Choose a warm coat that allows you to move around freely (bonus points for pockets to stash treats along the way!). A rubber-soled boot will keep your feet dry in the rain and snow, and don’t forget your hat!
For a Daytime Holiday Gathering
For a half-day of work followed by an office holiday party, you’ll need an outfit that can pull double-duty. Here, we’ve paired the silver skirt with a luxurious neutral top and shiny silver flats.
