Pack a Festive and Chic Carry-on For Holiday Family Visits

The holiday season is here! This time of year brings celebration, relaxation, and often many social engagements. Some of us are lucky enough to be close to the ones we love and others are lucky enough to have distance. No matter your situation, if you are travelling at this time of year, it’s time to think about what you need to bring. With such varied activities, saving room for gifts, and the added challenge of packing for cold-weather, the holidays are a particularly tough time to pack efficiently.

When packing for any trip, it’s important to remember what events and activities you will be doing. When packing for the holidays, you want to strike a balance of festive party-wear and comfortable clothing for sitting around a fire with a belly full of home-cooked food.

In the blog post, we outline the top pieces to bring home for Christmas that are festive, chic, and most importantly, easy to pack for a week-long trip!

Sweaters
Sweaters will usually be the go-to during the colder months. The great thing about a sweater, is you can wear it on the plane - so you only need to worry about packing one. Looking for more advice on how to style your favourite sweaters? Read our blog post on that here.

Dress or Midi-Skirt
Going out for a nice dinner, or attending a little holiday get together may require a dress or skirt. One of these pieces will give you that option while you’re travelling but also doesn’t take up much room. A few dress styles might include this years favourite satin slip dress or a velvet body-con for something festive and sexy. Wide-leg trousers would also work here.

Collared Shirt
A nice collared shirt is very easy to pack and is a piece that can be dressed up or worn under a chunky knit - there are many ways to style it!

Long-Sleeve Shirt
A long-sleeve shirt looks great tucked into jeans, a skirt, and can be accessorized for a more put-together look. This also can add a great base-layer for skating, skiing, and winter walks.

Jeans
A pair of jeans can be worn with your collared shirt or made more casual with a nice chunky knit sweater.

Luxury Lounge Set or Christmas PJs
It’s the holidays, meaning time away from work, from the office, and from looking your best. Cozy up in a lounge set.

Your Favourite Accessories
Lastly, make sure to throw in your favourite jewelry, scarves, hats, or belts to elevate any look! Accessories are easy to throw into your carry-on, but also make a normally simple outfit pop.
