The Trove Team’s Favourite Consigned Pieces

It’s no secret that the Trove Fashion team loves shopping secondhand! There are so many benefits to choosing preloved goods: it’s easier on your wallet, it helps the environment, and best of all, it can help you build a unique style.

Whether you have stopped by the store or follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably seen our team rocking gorgeously-styled outfits, complete with great shoes and fun accessories. Today, we’re chatting with the Trove team to learn more about their background in fashion, favourite consigned pieces, and secondhand wins and woes.

Kelly

Kelly opened up Trove Fashion in 2017 with the goal of creating the very best consignment experience possible. Trove combines Kelly’s love for fashion, sustainability and business. Her mantra: “You don’t need to break the bank to have great style!”

Kelly is an expert curator, and Trove is a reflection of her great taste, so we weren’t surprised to hear that she can’t pick a favourite piece in the shop. We asked if she had any consignment mishaps to share:

My biggest regret is a beautiful Dries Van Noten silk button-up dress that was destroyed when I moved a couple of years ago. It still hangs in my closet with a big tear in the back. I should probably get rid of it since all it does is upset me, but I can't seem to bring myself to donate it ... It's such beautiful fabric! Perhaps I’ll repurpose it one day.

Justyna

Justyna is the store manager and has been with Trove since almost the beginning. She has been the face of Trove for many years now, and you might have seen her rocking the styling tips over on Instagram! We asked Justyna to tell us about her favourite Trove finds.

Biggest win: A long denim lined jacket from Pistola, a women’s denim brand based in LA. It’s such a great piece to wear throughout the year. It is so unique and I get so many compliments about it!

Biggest regret: A beautiful pair of Staud sandals. This is another LA-based brand and their high-quality pieces can be quite expensive at retail prices. I shouldn’t have hesitated, I still think about them!

Paola

Paola is a Sales Associate at Trove Fashion. She loves helping our shoppers find their perfect fit. She has a great eye and has scored a few treasures of her own! We asked Paola to show off a few of her secondhand wins:

Some years ago, I acquired a stunning dress by Aysha Saeed at an exceptionally good price from a secondhand boutique in Auckland, New Zealand. The fuschia and gold fabric of this dress is gorgeous and perfect for a dressy summer event!

I've acquired many wonderful items from Trove this year that immediately captured my heart. Some of my favorites include a nude pink purse from Charles and Keith – the blush shade effortlessly complements numerous outfits. In the fall, I’ll pull out my classic black-and-beige checkered vintage wool coat as the air gets crisp.

For now, I’m enjoying this -floral Zara dress that suits my body shape perfectly. The cotton/linen blend fabric makes this piece perfect for summer outings.
