Consignment Style: Fall Trends for 2023
Is it just us or did summer 2023 fly by?
Though it seems hard to believe, the air is getting crisp, the leaves are starting to turn, and it’s now time to start updating our closets for the colder months. Today, we’re sharing a few of the Trove team’s favourite fall trends, as well as our tips on how to get the look with pieces from Trove’s collection. Let’s get started!
Shackets
2022 was the year of the shacket, and that trend is holding strong in 2023. But what is a shacket exactly? This heavier half-shirt/half-jacket layering piece is the perfect choice for fall weather, when it can be warm one minute and freezing the next. Nordstrom stylist Kelly Olson recommends choosing a cozy, long shacket instead of a cardigan to make your look feel current.

Chunky Knits
Chunky knits aren’t exactly a trend – this fall staple rightfully earns a place in our closets every year. To update this classic for 2023, the Trove team is reaching for knitwear with interesting details, like bows or dramatic sleeves.
This peachy wrap sweater ticks all the boxes: the lighter shade helps bridge between summer and fall, the long sleeves keep you warm on a cooler night, and the wrap detail adds a point of interest.

What does normcore mean to the Trove team in 2023? It’s all about building your look using well-tailored pieces that make you feel comfortable. Start with a perfect t-shirt, a cropped blazer, or your favourite denim, then layer on accessories or outerwear according to your schedule for the day. When you start with a strong base, you’ll exude confidence no matter what comes your way.
